Rare diseases

Rare diseases affect a small percentage of the population, usually fewer than 1 in 2,000 people. Currently, more than 6,000 rare diseases have been identified and the list continues to grow, with new diseases regularly being described by medical science. Well-known rare disease include Polio, Huntingdon's, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and more.
