The Home Office minister with responsibility for animal research, Lynne Featherstone, has agreed to meet the bioscience sector to discuss policy issues. Earlier this month, a dozen major organisations representing the sector wrote to her laying out the importance of the continued ability to carry out limited and carefully controlled research using animals, done in a responsible manner. The letter was accompanied by a briefing on key policy issues for animal research.

The minister has undertaken, amongst other issues, not to 'gold-plate' EU legislation in this area.

See our new Policy Overview page for more information and text of the bioscience sector letter and briefing.
