We are looking for a full-time Video Producer with a strong understanding and passion for creating captivating video content to join our small team at Understanding Animal Research (UAR). 0.8 FTE will be considered for the right candidate.
Who we are
UAR is the UK’s only dedicated animal research advocacy organisation. We are funded by more than 150 life science organisations, including the UK’s top ten universities for life science, research institutions, research funders and charities, pharmaceutical companies, learned societies, and government agencies. Our primary aim is to ensure that there is factual, evidence-based information available to the public on how and why animals are used in scientific research. We open the doors to animal laboratories by sharing stories from researchers and animal care staff, highlighting new advancements in medical research and lab animal welfare, and explaining the regulations and laws surrounding animal research.
Who we are looking for
The Video Producer is an integral member of the team and is responsible for delivering engaging video content to a range of audiences (scientific, lay public, media, and policy makers) to drive the reach and influence of UAR’s work.
The Video Producer will work closely with UAR’s digital communications team to develop video content for UAR’s websites and social media channels. They will deliver video-related training for UAR stakeholders, and film and edit videos for UAR events such as lectures and workshops.
The Video Producer will also be expected to find opportunities for collaboration with UAR stakeholders. Previous examples include filming components of laboratory tours, producing training videos, filming research animals to use as stock footage, and filming interviews with technicians and scientists.
The Video Producer will be responsible for all aspects of video production, including setting up filming opportunities, script writing, filming, editing, and uploading content to UAR’s video hosting sites.
The successful applicant will report to the Head of Communications and Engagement and work closely with the Digital Communications Manager and Communications Officer. This role has no line management responsibilities.
