Communications internship with EARA
Job Title: Intern Communications Officer
Working For: European Animal Research Association
Salary: £10 per hour (3-4 days per week)
Details: The European Animal Research Association has been established to inform the European public on the continued need for, and benefit of, the humane use of animals in biomedical research. It seeks to provide support, advocacy and reliable communication on behalf of public and private researchers at both national and European levels. The intern will assist in the implementation of an external affairs/communications strategy as directed by the Executive Director. The candidate will be required to work for 3 – 4 days per week, at least until the end of December 2014.
The project office/communications intern will have an understanding of the issues (political/cultural/scientific) surrounding animal research and will understand the need for humane animal research in Europe. They will have excellent writing skills. Database management skills would also be useful. A knowledge of German, Italian, or Spanish would be helpful.
The role will be based in the offices of Understanding Animal Research in London (http://www.understandinganimalresearch.org.uk) but may require some foreign travel.
